Information about a Maternity Unit
If you want to give us more information about the maternity unit or birth centre which you represent, then email us by email.
We would especially like to know the following information about your Maternity Unit:
- Changes to do with your contact details, including how to contact your Community Midwives and how to book hospital tours
- Comments on the maternity statistics on our website
- Latest maternity statistics from your unit
- Disabled facilities
- Interpreting services available
- Provision of antenatal classes, who runs them and who can attend them
- How many birthing pools you have, and if there is a charge: numbers of midwives trained to deliver in water
- If epidurals/low dose epidurals are available any time
- If there is a midwifery-led unit for low-risk women associated with the unit
- Hospital Protocols for any specific maternity issues (eg previous Caesarean section)
- Bathroom facilities in labour rooms
- Post-natal visiting times (partners/children/others) and restrictions
- Provision for partners to stay
- Post-natal bathroom facilities (ratio to mothers)
- Security provisions
- Bus and trains that serve the unit.
- Availability of car parking.
