• CRH is a brand new hospital (completed April 2001) with a purpose built Maternity Unit. There are 10 LDRP (Labour, Delivery, Recovery, Postnatal) rooms on the delivery suite as well as a 2 bedded High Dependency Unit and an additional LDRP room with a birthing pool.
• The aim of care is to provide a high quality service to women and their families, giving holistic, evidence-based and women-centred care.
• CRH serves a multi-racial community with a high population of Urdu speaking families. There is an interpreter on site each morning and several midwives have learned to speak Urdu.

• The Midwife-led Unit has 6 LDRP rooms and shares the birthing pool with the consultant Unit. The philosophy of care of the Midwife-led Unit is to provide low tech care to low risk women in a designated home from home environment. Women are enabled to make informed choices regarding their care and service users are actively consulted on their views, and suggestions put into practice.
